Drinking cafecito and supporting small businesses is my sport. Ever since the hybrid work model became the norm, so did my appreciation for working at coffee shops. Some places have really good coffee, others have really nice vibes ( and a work space set up), and others have really good food to top it off. Some have it all! Below my top 3 coffee shops in my hometown lately. I'm sure a part II-V will happen as there are too many good ones to name.
- PJ's Coffee (Small-Business Enterprise): This is one of my favorites for a cappuccino and their seasonal "Banana Foster" coffee is amazing. These guys have the best croissants in town hands down. (2 Center St, Newark, NJ 07102 & Newark Museum of Art)
- Kanela (Woman-Owned Business): This one is my favorite place to get a hot chai with oat milk. If you're feeling blue, try their immunity boost! (270 Orange St, Newark, NJ 07103)
- Blueprint Cafe (Minority-Owned Business): This is one is one of my favorites for their amazing tea selection and some delicious food options including their BlueBerry Toast and yummy donuts. Vegan friendly place with parking! (369 Raymond Blvd, Newark, NJ 07105)
